An Introduction About Art Education

Art Education is an important device of knowledge and holds equal importance as the other subjects .There is a big difference between the information that the student gains from reading and the one he/she gains from art. Art and craft and hands-on activities make the students learn accuracy , gentleness , organization and scientific thinking. Art education in its broad concept is an educational process that develops and elevates the student's senses. This proves helpful in the long term as he is able to recognize the aesthetics of things which in turn reflects on his behavior and choices such as; his outfit ,home interior, furniture etc...
It is obvious that the habits which a student acquires during the learning process are important factors in the formation of the student's personality. We can judge the teacher’s success if good behavior and habits are displayed by the student.

General Objectives Of Art Education

1. Raise the individual to live a fine aesthetic experience in a developed social framework, and deepening Islamic concepts and values in the hearts of our students while practicing artistic, methodological and extracurricular activities.

2. Discover talented students and develop their talents as well as technical and professional capabilities.

3. Affirm the students ’self-worth, provide opportunities for them to express themselves through art, and to help them reach the ultimate educational goal, which is the formation of the individual’s personality.

4. Develop the ability to recognize, observe and criticize purposeful artistic taste.

5. Develop the ability to meditate on Allah’s creation and the balance present in nature.
6. Build artistic sense and perception.

7. Acquire the appropriate experiences and skills which are compatible with students’ ages and levels, link them to their environment, and connect with fields of our artistic and popular heritage.

8. Develop respect for hands-on work and those who do it.

9. Provide an opportunity for students to express any topic of their choice when the desire for them to express themselves arises.

10. Arouse what lies in the hearts of students through drawing and arts, and to use common situations as an external means to arouse the desire for expression and artistic production.

11. Give the teacher the opportunity to get to know his students ’desires and benefit from them while doing simple projects that suit their level of expression and artistic production. This is a fertile field for a lot of activity for design, construction, work, installation, photography and decoration.
12. Help students use different common materials according to their choice in expressing topics related to their everyday life.

13. Accustom students to acquire good qualities such as cleanliness, perseverance, patience, confidence, observation and responsibility.

14. Highlight the uniqueness of each student through artistic expression, which has a positive impact on the integrity of the student’s character, and use art as a process of innovation, not literal transfer or indoctrination.

15. Develop a spirit of cooperation and teamwork by organizing students into groups.

16. Develop students’ taste and artistic sense to allow them to enjoy the aesthetic values and recognize the beauty in the things they see
