The fifth grade forms the fourth year of Elementary school and children enrolled are typically 9 to 10 years old. Subjects taught include English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
The curriculum for Math includes more complex aspects as compared to the previous year. Students are taught how to calculate factors and multiples of numbers, calculate as well as convert units of measure, and to work with fractions.
For English, students are taught a variety of new genres and are introduced to more sophisticate vocabulary.
